Zenit St.Petersburg take another shot at Pepe

Last year, Zenit St. Petersburg's bid to bring Simone Pepe to Russia fell apart but they are taking aim once again in hopes of recruiting the Juventus winger. Pepe's own agent has acknowledged that Zenit's rumored interest is not just mere rumors.

For the last two months, Juventus has planned to increase the 28 year old players contract while Zenit has reportedly tried to tempt Pepe to join them in Russia.

Tuttosport reported, Zenit coach, Luciano Spalleti is looking for players who can strengthen the attack. For that Zenit look to Pepe believing he is prepared to leave Turin. Juventus executives expect Zenit to make a bid on Pepe. Pepe has stated that he does not take the possibility of moving to Russia into account, but a million dollar contract could change his mind. Juventus would hope to gain approximately 10 million from the sale which would be reinvested immediately.
Pepe played 31 times in Serie A last season, scoring a total of six goals.
